If you're finding it hard to memorize stuff, maybe I can help you with these tips of mine, ne?

1. If you're trying to memorize a poem, say it out loud really fast a lot of times.

2. If you're trying to memorize what your teacher talked about for the next day, try looking back at your notes and read it out loud.

3. If you're trying to memorize a list, try making those.. um... -checks book- Mnemonics. For example:
The lines on the staff (Music):
Every
Good
Boy
Does
Fine

4. If you're studying for a test, try pretending you are teaching someone. It helps your memory and understanding skills.

In Philippines, when we have an exam at the end of the term(or quarter), I would go upstairs and study by myself, just re-reading the notes. That worked for me. Smile

I'm so going to use some of these tips! XD
My class had to make a mnemonic for the metric system... since stupid america couldn't teach it to me as a child! DARN THEM! The power of youth!

I think it was:
Kings (Kilo)
Hate (Hecto)
Digging (Deca)
-Base-
During (Deci)
Carrot (Centi)
Milk (Milli)
It wasn't really logical at all... so we changed the last two into:
Cold
Months
But during the exam I remembered 'Carrot Milk'

That works! I had one for the planets, but it doesn't work now, since Pluto isn't a planet anymore NOO!!

I think its sort of silly to suddenly change it...
There was a mural of outer space that had all the planets near my school... they had to paint over Pluto because it isn't a real planet though...

Here's a Mnemonic on how to remember the planets:

My -Mercury
Very -Venus
Eager -Earth
Mother -Mars
Just -Jupiter
Served -Saturn
Us -Uranus
Nine -Neptune
Papayas -Pluto

Oh, I had to memorize that last year.... I can never think of mnemonics for it...
It helped me to just repeat it really fast! Sometimes it helps to associate elements with other things so that you remember them!
Boron, Carbon, Lithium.......
Boron and Carbon are easy enough to remember, but I always associate Lithium with the song by Evanescence!

We have one at school for the periodic table but I don't use one. I know the order though Smile

A trick that, I got off my Japanese teacher is to associate things which the note/whatever your doing. When you associate things it makes it easier to remember them.
Examples:
- Hidari = Left in Japanese. I can remember this because there is a kamae (Stance) in Kendo called Hidari Jodan(pronounced Jyodan).
- Te in Katakana = Te is a character in Katakana ( a form of japanese script ). My friend made it on his forhead. I can remember it very easily lol.
